Little Miss Muffet Stamps new release

It's going to be a terrific Thursday! Right!?! Definitely!

Texas got rain and lots of it yesterday! Some flooding, but much needed rain. Bastrop...you might remember me talking about Bastrop last September. That's where I was born and raised and last September they had a big fire there - burned nearly 1600 homes, Bastrop State Park, etc. Well, they had to close school yesterday, because of flooding. My sister said they had 5 inches of rain in 3 hours! That's a lot of rain.

Today, Little Miss Muffet is releasing several new images. A couple more Sugar 'n Spice Dolls, a couple Little Misses, and one animal friend.

If you caught my post the other day, you know that our dog, Annie, had 9 puppies last weekend. I think I'll put a picture in the side bar and update it regularly and title it "Watch Them Grow". What do you think? They are super cute.

Well, in honor of the new additions to our family, I decided to use the new animal friend, Hooch! When I hear that name I think of the movie Turner & Hooch, but this Hooch is soooooo much cuter!!

I colored Hooch with my Copic marker, cut him out with my Labels 2 Nestie and sponged around the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in tea dye while the image was still in the die. Hooch was super fun and easy to color.

I also used my white gelly roll pen to add some extra highlights to his ribbon and nose.

I also used my brand spanking new bottle cap die cut and stamp set that I ordered from Whimsy Stamps. I used Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in vintage photo for the stamp.

Dude Time Doodles New Release Blog Hop

So glad to see you today! Some exciting news to share.

Dude Time Doodles is releasing a few new images today. If you've arrived at my blog from Ruth, then you are on the correct path.

The Dudeville community is welcoming Axel Lumberjack, Archie Heartful, and Syd Sadback. You will be introduced to all of them as you make your way around our circle hop. There is no beginning and ending. So, no matter where you get on, as long as you go full circle, you'll see everything. Be certain you leave the Dudettes and our one Dude some extra love, because you never know who the MYSTERY HOST(ESS) will be.

I am pleased to introduce you to Syd Sadback. It's normal for me to color any football player image in blue and gold, because those are the colors of my oldest son's college team.

I colored Syd with my Copic markers and cut out the image with my Labels 22 Nestie. Then I matted the image with some dark blue cardstock. All of the papers are from my stash. The button, star eyelets and twine are also from my stash.

I think we can all imagine why Syd is crying. And that's why I chose the sentiment I did. This is football! One of the only times you can see grown men cry. The sentiment was made using my new Whimsy Stamps Shapeology bottle cap die cut and stamp, but the sentiment was computer generated.

Now for some unrelated cuteness.

Our dog Annie had her puppies last Saturday. When we arrived home from a long day at the gun shop, she had 5 of them. All cleaned up and raring to go.

The next day we were greeted with 4 more!! So, 9 puppies total. They like to make one big pile of puppies and when they start whining, Annie takes her nose to the middle of the pile and starts pushing one puppy at a time to nurse. She's a great mama.

Little Miss Muffet Blues & Creams

It's going to be a terrific Thursday. Well, I'm praying it will anyway.

The weather is wreaking havoc on the old sinuses. I'm walking around with a perpetual headache that will *not* go away! It's been happening for so long, I've just gotten used to it.

Little Miss Muffet Challenges starts a new fortnight challenge today. Our challenge to you this time is to use blues and creams. I must admit, this was somewhat challenging (pun intended) for me. I think I need a little bit more blue to go with my cream, but otherwise I like how my attempt turned out.

For this challenge, I used Agent Popcorn. She is one of my favorite images at LMMS. I love her curly hair. I colored Agent with my Copic markers and fussy cut around her legs so that I could use my circle Nestie and leave her legs out of the die.

I also used my lacey circle Nestie to cut out the matting for the image. They I used my Spica liner to create the faux stitching around the circle.

All of the papers and bling are from my stash.

Howdy pardner!

Today there is a new challenge at Dude Time Doodles. As always, I'm in charged of the challenges on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. And as always, the 3rd Wednesday is an inspirational challenge. This go 'round, however, I'm not supplying the photos or colors. This week, we're gonna play *BINGO*!

Here's your bingo card. If you've never played craft bingo before, it's a lot like Tic Tac Toe. Get your Xs all in a row and that's what you use for your project.

For my project, I've used the diagonal brads / step card / twine.

My image is Cactus Kirk. He's lonely out on the prairie sipping his coffee (or whiskey). I colored him with my Copic markers, cut the image out with my Labels 22 Nestie and sponged the night sky with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Antique Denim.

The stars were done with my Sharpie white paint pen. I think I should have sponged a little more blue for the effect I was really going for, but it looks alright. I've made a step card, brass brads, and twine to make the lasso. All the papers are from my stash.

The senti-ment is a quote from one of my favorite Western movies, Tomb-stone. I just love Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday in this movie.

Saturated Canary...Penny

Today I had some time to craft for something other than a DT requirement. I know, right! Still can't believe it myself really.

I saw that Saturated Canary is holding a DT Call. I have recently found these images and let me tell ya, they are the cutie-patootie!! So, I decided to give it a go.

I purchased a couple of the digi images last week. That was a hard decision to make. I decided on Let It Rain and Penny Raggamuffin with the help of my sistas.

For the DT Call, I used Penny. I wanted to show off the image more than anything else on the card, so, I kept the card fairly simple regarding embellies.

WOW - a different shape photo!!

I colored Penny with my Copic markers. Which are getting sticky yet again! I've done some more research on the problem and I think either I have build up or a crack in the cap. Anyway, after coloring Penny, I placed the sentiment up and down along side her, then I cut her out with my Labels 17 Nestie and just used my fine point Micron marker to dot the edges of the embossing. I dotted around her with the same colors I used on her dress and legwarmers. Can you see the freckles I gave her?

I really like how this card turned out. The bling and papers are from my stash and Authentique Blissful.

Paper bag card

Here's a shout out to Little Miss Muffet's fearless leader, Barbara. She's been very sick the last few weeks and is hopefully on the road to a quick recovery.

Today instead of new images, the design team has created a lot of inspirational projects for you. Please be sure to visit them all and leave some love. You can find links to their blogs in my sidebar.

I decided to try something my teamie did a week or so ago and make a paper bag card. I doubt my attempt does it as much justice as Leah Anne's does.

I used Jada, who has just completed some retail therapy. I colored her with my Copic markers, cut out the image with my Labels 10 Nestie and created a sidewalk (which most of got cut off).

Here you can see how the gift card would fit into the "pocket" that's made by adhering the bottom flap of the paper bag.

And another pic of the gift card slot. Although I did not use the "pocket" on the front flap of the card, you can easily put inspirational quotes on tabs in there.

Something new for the New Year

So glad you've stopped by today.

The week is winding down and things are starting to get back to normal (whatever that may be) for us. School has started back for my daughter and youngest son. The last semester of his senior year of high school. He's excited, but a little nervous too. My oldest will head back to college on Sunday.

Little Miss Muffet Challenges has a new challenge starting today. The challenge is to use something new.

For this challenge, I decided to use Saffron. A brand spanking new image that was a freebie last week. Check here for more details.

I colored Saffron with my Copic markers. Then dis-tressed and sponged Tim Holtz Dis-tressing Ink in Tea Dye around the edges. I kept the background simple.

I am really happy with the way this turned out. I've never colored as large an area with my warm grays, but I really like how it turned out. What do you think?

I also dotted Saffron's hat and muff to create the fuzzy look. I'm happy with how it turned out too.

You make me smile

Happy New Year to all my chicas!! I hope that 2012 is treating you well so far.

I've had a great couple weeks off from blogging. We went to Gatlinburg before Christmas and spent some much needed down time with family. Then had Christmas and I was spoiled again.

But now it's back to the grind. Although it's never really a grind blogging or creating my projects. It's some good therapy for me.

Today starts this years challenges over at Dude Time Doodles. They have made a few changes that you will be hard pressed to miss out on. The challenges will still be on Wednesdays, but now you can win prizes. Not only images from Dude Time Doodles, but they are working hard at getting more sponsors for their challenges.

They are also changing up the challenges a little. The 1st Wednesday challenge isn't just a sketch challenge now. The 2nd Wednesday will still be the freebie / guest designer challenge and the 3rd Wednesday will still remain the inspirational challenge, but look for some added twists.

So, this being the 1st Wednesday, the challenge today is *anything goes*!! That should be easy enough.

And for this challenge, I chose to use Gary Gift-
bearer. This is one of my favorite images. He so reminds me of Forrest Gump! He's holding a couple flowers behind his back and waving that chocolate bar with that silly grin on his face. Priceless!!

I colored Gary with my Copics markers, stamped the sentiment below the image, cut him out with my Labels 10 Nestie, and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Tea Dye while the image was still in the die cut. They I matted the image with some red cardstock from my stash.

The papers and brad are from my stash. The sentiment is a Lawn Fawn Hello Friend clear stamp set that I won from Catered Crop a couple months ago.

WHEW! I am so ready for my Christmas vacation!! While you are reading this post this morning, I am hopefully on my way to spend time with family! I'm so looking forward to it. Time away from work and time with family is tops on my list!!

We'll be taking it easy, sleeping in, and watching Christmas movies!! This week the challenge at Dude Time Doodles is to create a project with your favorite Christmas movie in mind.

My favorite and I have to watch it every year is The Year Without a Santa Claus. It is a stop-motion animated movie created by Rankin/Bass in 1974 based on Phyllis McGinley's book of the same name. I can't decide which one of the Miser Brothers is my absolute favorite. Both of them are hilarious! I love it when their Mom, Mother Nature, gets involved in their little spat about whether or not to let it snow in Southtown so Vixen can get out of the dog pound.

So, for my creation in honor of The Year Without a Santa Claus, I chose Santi Beaches. He's chillin' on the beach with his adult beverage. Unlike the movie, this Santa is not sick. He's protesting.

I colored Santi with my Copic markers, cut out the image with my Labels 17 Nestie and used the Copics to dot the sand, ocean and sun.

For the fuzz on his hat, I used the Marvy Snow Marker and Stickles. The papers, buttons and twine are all from my stash.

Happy Saturday!!

I've got a special treat for you today.

Dude Time Doodles is offering a freebie each Saturday in December and this is my weekend to showcase one of the new releases that Boni is offering as a freebie for today.

This is Kris Jingle. He's all tangled up in the Christmas lights trying to figure out how in the world the strand could still be working one it's not plugged in!!

This is my new favorite Christmas image from Dude Time Doodles. I love the look on Kris' face. I colored Kris with my Copic markers, cut him out with my Labels 22 Nestie with his feet sticking out of the die, and sponged around the edges with some red ink while the image was still in the die.

Then I put some faux stitching around the embossed edge and matted it on to some deep red cardstock.

I think put some Marvy Snow Marker to create the fuzzy portion of his Santa hat. Then put Stickles on top of that and on the light bulbs to give it some sparkle.

In this photo you can see the puffiness of the "fuzzy" portion of the hat.

We're on the down hill slide for this week!

Over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges we have a new challenge. Our challenge this fortnight is to use buttons and ribbon.

For this challenge, I've used Paprika. She is one of the Sugar and Spice Dolls. Isn't she a cutie? I love how her eyes squinch up when she smiles.

I paper pieced Paprika's hat and rain coat with some Basic Grey Lemonade 6X6 paper. Then colored the rest of her with my Copics, cut her out with my Labels 10 Nestie and then used my Copics to put dots all around her in the same colors as her clothes. I also used my C1 Copic marker to create some shadows on her hat and coat.

Getting into the Christmas spirit

Yee Haw!!

It's Wednesday and it's the Christmas season ya'll!! This time of year is my absolute favorite. From Halloween on through Thanksgiving all the way to the New Year. I'm working on my Christmas gift list and am a little more than half way finished. I do a lot of my shopping on line as I really do not like the mall. Something there makes my eyes very dry and I end up with a headache. So, I stay away as much as I can.

To help celebrate the season, Dude Time Doodles' first challenge of December is for you to show your holiday spirit in a masculine card. Their sponsor for this week is Glitterbabe. You could win 2 free images if your project is the winner. *3* images are up for grabs if the winner uses a Glitterbabe image!!

I used St. Nick. I colored him with my Copic markers (refills are on my Christmas list), cut the image out with my Fiskars trimmer and used a corner punch. Then I matted St. Nick with some green cardstock.

All of the paper and brads are from my stash. The sentiment I created on the computer, cut out with my metal tags Nestie and sponged with some red ink.

His list consists of those I'm not quiet sure were naughty or nice this year. How's going to get a lump of coal and who's gonna get that shiny new iPad they've been wanting? I've gotta keep the people guessing, you know?

Boys will be boys...

OMGness! It's finally Friday. It's been a tough week. Okay, a tough month. With the move and everything, my hubby and I are tired, sore, exhausted and just plain in need of a break. We finally have the shop back open! Still needs some attention, of course, but hopefully we can settle down some now.

I promised another new release today and I will not disappoint. As you know, Little Miss Muffet Stamps has new releases every other week on Thursdays and Fridays. With the long weekend I was able to get more than one done!

Without further ado, let me introduce you to Bandit Boy Tom. He's so cute and all boy. I colored him with my Copics, cut the image out with my Labels 17 Nestie and faux stitched around the embossed edges. Then I matted the image onto some blue cardstock from my stash.

All of the paper, ribbon and button came from my stash. I've got tons I need to get rid of? Anyone care to swap? I painted the dots on the button with my green Sharpie paint pen!! All my other green buttons did not match the green in the paper. Imagine that.

I kept this card clean and simple too. I wanted the image to be the focal point of the card.

Gone fishin'

We're on the down hill slide for this week! WOHOO!! It's always tough after a short week like last week, isn't it?

Little Miss Muffet Stamps is releasing a couple new images today. I was able to create with one of them.

This is Payton. Isn't she adorable? I love her braided pigtails. I colored Payton with my Copic markers, cut her out with my Labels 10 Nestie and sponged around the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink while the image was still in the die. I wanted to make it look somewhat like a vintage photo.

Here's a close up of Payton. The little fishie bone charm was given to me by Theresa. She was on a design team with me last year and was very thoughtful in sending me a bunch of charms. I thought this one went perfectly with the image.

Here's the completed project. Nothing fancy. I wanted to keep it simple.

It's the last day of November and the Christmas season is upon us. Remember the reason for the season!

Dude Time Doodles is having a new release with some really cool images. If you've arrived here from Ruth's blog, you are in the right spot.

Let me introduce you to Abner Abomin-able! He's not your average abomin-able snow-man. Webster's has abominable defined as worthy of or causing disgust or hatred: detestable. Abner is definitely not detestable. He is liked by all his peers, learned to play nice and share when he was just a snowflake and is somewhat of a ladies man.

Abner was printed twice. I colored both with my Copic markers and cut his head out on one. The other I cut out with my Labels 22 Nestie and sponged the edges with Vintage Denim Tim Holtz Distressed Ink with the image was still in the die.

Then I created a tilt card with his head following this tutorial. All of the paper is from my stash.

With a thankful heart

Happy Thanksgiving to all those in the States celebrating. I am very fortunate to be celebrating with my family. All the kids are here - WOOHOO!! Normally we would be in Texas for Thanksgiving this year, but things just didn't work out the way we had wanted, so we decided to stay here.

I'm cooking! Yeah, it's been like 15 years since I was responsible for cooking the turkey, but I know I can do it. Luckily, hubby and the kids have faith in me. We'll be serving up smoked turkey, ham, cheesy taters, cornbread dressing, green beans, black eyed peas, sweet potato casserole with pecans on top (YUMMY!!), deviled eggs, pumpkin pie and pecan brookie! Oh, and rolls - can't forget the rolls! So, if you're in the area, stop by for some grub.

Today also begins a new challenge over at Little Miss Muffet Challenges. The challenge for this fortnight is to create something that shows your gratitude or thanks.

I've used Chloe for my project. I colored her with my Copic markers and cut the image out with my Labels 17 Nestie.

The paper is Cosmo Cricket Wanted along with some solid brown and teal cardstock. The punch I used is an EK Success edge punch on both sides of the cardstock.

I created the sentiment on my computer, printed it out on light coffee cardstock, and used another EK Success punch on both sides.

The flowers, brads and ribbon are from my stash. I followed the sketch at Sweet Stop.

Sunny days ahead

I'm so glad to see you this wonderful Friday! It's been a tough week and I know we can all use the rest. My hubby is taking our youngest son to a Notre Dame game this weekend. Our son loves Notre Dame and as a belated birthday gift, he's getting to go see a game, check out campus, see where Knute Rockne is really buried, and spend some time with Dad. I get to have a girls weekend with our daughter!

After a rainy start to the week, the sun is finally shining and I see even sunnier days ahead. At least for a while. We're still working on getting everything in place to open the shop. It's been slow going, because we've been short on help, but hopefully we'll get inspections and open by the day after Thanksgiving! Keep you fingers crossed for us.

Today marks another new release at Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Barbara always comes up with the cutest images. This release is no different.

Let me introduce you to Audrey. She's blocking the sun from her eyes and searching for more sunny days. I colored her with my Copic and cut her out with my Labels 22 Nestie leaving her legs out of the die to give the illusion that she's sitting on the edge of the die.

The paper I used is Authentique Blissful - one of my favorite paper pads. The flower, button, and butterfly are from my stash. In this picture you can tell that I pop dotted her leg and arm for dimension.

Here's how Audrey looks from the front. Can't really tell she's popping off the page.

And from the side you can see the dimension. I used a white gel pen and Stickles for the detail on her jeans.

Gobble 'til you wobble

Oh my goodness. It's Wednesday! WHEW! I'm tired. My feet hurt. My arms hurt. My head hurts. Okay, my whole body hurts. Moving is the pits. There's always some extra you didn't account for. Time slips away as if it's not even happening. And then you're not finished with what you needed to be finished with.

Anyway, I hope your day is going well.

Today there is a new challenge at Dude Time Doodles.

Use the photo / color inspiration above to inspire you. Use the colors, the images, the sentiment. Whatever you want, but it must follow the rules of the challenge and that is that it must be a masculine card.

This week, Dude Time Doodles has an awesome new sponsor.

I decided to use the sentiment and some of the colors as inspiration for my card. I also used Patty Pilgrim. Her pie looks scrumptious! I even followed the sketch from our sponsor's challenge!

I colored Patty with my Copic markers, cut her out with my Labels 10 Nestie and faux stitched the edge. I've used a hodge podge of papers from my stash and Basic Grey Max and Whiskers paper pad. The gold ribbon, brad and bling are also from my stash.

Here's a close up of Patty. She's shining for you with her flashy red lace collar. Most pilgrims didn't wear red... Wait! How do we know for sure what colors they wore? Maybe they did wear red and not all white and black like the history books say? Well, Patty did, because she likes to be a little naughty. heehee

With the gun shop move, the holidays fast approaching and life in general I think I better take a load off while I can. Make things as simple as possible to relieve some stress.

That's also the theme for the next challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges. Create a project that is simple, but add a charm.

For this challenge, I thought Sarah would be perfect. I colored her with my Copic markers and cut the image out with my Labels One Nestie and sponged around the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Tea Dye with the die still on. I matted it with Pretty Pink Dark Colormates cardstock.

I then embossed a sheet of white cardstock and lightly sponged more Tim Holtz Distressed Ink Tea Dye to make the embossing pop. I matted that piece with Pretty Pink Light and Dark Colormates cardstock. The ribbon and charm are from my stash.

Good Advice...

What a wonderful Wednesday!

Okay, if you've had a rough week, like I have, then it might not be so wonderful. I did wake up with this morning - God gave me another day - so it's wonderful!!

I've got some awesome advice for you today. Go visit Dude Time Doodles and get their newest freebie for their guest designer challenge!

And here's some more good advice... Don't eat yellow snow! heehee This is Duck Snowball Warrior. When I saw this image, I couldn't resist making a shaker card (something I've never done before) and also couldn't resist using this sentiment.

I colored the warrior with my Copic markers and cut the image with a large oval Nestie. Then I matted the image to a dark blue cardstock also cut out with a large scalloped oval Nestie. To create the shaker card, I followed the directions here. I searched all over my craft room for something to "shake", but the only thing I found was glitter and it would end up *all* over creation if I used it. So, I made some homemade flower soft by rubbing two styrofoam balls together (here's a tutorial). Then I turned it yellow by stamping it with a yellow ink pad.

The snowflakes are actually photo corners that I cut the corner off of.

Little Miss Muffet New Release

It's finally Friday! This week has been stressful. Next weeks not going to be any better.

I think I mentioned that we're moving our gun shop. Yeah! That's right. Moving = stress. I haven't been able to get near as much crafting in as I'd like in the last few weeks, but I'm getting a little.

This week Little Miss Muffet Stamps is releaseing some new images. Yesterday Sparks and Sarah debuted. Today Chloe and Anna Kristine Hatter. All of the images are super cute and work well for many different crafts.

I decided to use Anna Kristine Hatter. I just love the Hatters! All of them are super adorable and now come with their hat as an accessory (an bonus image). One of my design teammates mentioned that the hat would make a cute tag. So, I stole her idea and made one. Well, kinda. I think she was probably meaning a big tag, whereas I used it just as a name tag.

I colored Anna Kristine with my Copic markers using blues and yellows. I saw an image colored with a navy outfit the other day and . thought it was gorgeous and wanted to give it a try. I ciut the image out with my Labels 10 Nestie and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Faded Jeans Ink with the image still in the die.

The patterned papers are all Authentique Blissful - which I just love love love!! With some added solid cardstock as matting. The ribbon came from my sister - thank you!! The flowers, brads and button came from my stash. I added some Diamond Stickles to the peacock feathers. I adhered the creation to a solid white gift bag. Here's a close up of Anna Kristine. Isn't she awesome!?!

And here's a close up of the hat. I colored it with my Copic markers and then fussy cut it out. Added some Diamond Stickles to the peacock feathers, punched out a hole with my eyelet setter, found some string and viola! A tag!

OWH Fundraiser results

You may remember a few weeks ago, I was part of an Operation Write Home Fundraiser Blog Hop. We've gotten the results on the amount that we raised. $500!!! It's just a drop in the bucket of the $13K that they need for mailing cards to the troops overseas, but it's a start. It's also an awesome amount considering the price of the stamps sold. So, K 'n K Designs sold a bunch of stamps for this fundraiser.

Happy Wednesday to ya! I hope you've had a great week so far and appreciate you stopping by to "see" me today.

Halloween is over and I managed to escape this year without being bombarded with haunted house going. I do not like haunted houses. The kids think I'm a sissy, but that's okay.

Now we're looking forward to Thanksgiving. I'm cooking, as you may remember, for the first time in many years. Like 15 years! I have cooked since, but not the turkey. I'm also going to try to make a pumpkin pie. Anyone have a tried and true, extra scrumptious recipe?

Today begins a new challenge at Dude Time Doodles. Since we've changed up some things it is no longer just a sketch challenge. This month, Tammy, has given us several things to chose from. You get to pick which special day in November to do a card for.

You've got World Hello Day on the 21st. Thanksgiving on the 24th. And Stay at Home Because You are Well Day on the 30th.

I decided to stick with the traditional holiday and used Fanny Thanks for my project. I colored the majority of her and the turkey with my Copic markers, but paper pieced her dress and the tablecloth. I then cut the image out with my Labels 17 Nestie and sponged some Tim Holtz Vintage Tea Dye around the edges with the die still on.

Here's a close up of Fanny with her fabulous dress! I used some brown and burnt orange Stickles for her earrings and necklaces. A silver gel pen came in handy for the fork and knife.

On the inside of the card, I used some of the same papers. I also created the sentiment - which I saw on a sign at Cracker Barrel a while back - then cut it out with the largest Labels 17 Nestie.

Say Goodbye to Summer...

Yes, it's time to say goodbye to summer. I'm ready! Most people think I'm nuts to love the cold weather as cold natured as I am, but I do love it. Especially here in TN. We are supposed to go from a high of 80 today to a high of something like 55 tomorrow! WOOHOO!!

Today begins a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges and in honor of saying goodbye to summer, I created this card using Summer Breezes. Isn't she lovely? I have loved this image for some time and have finally found a challenge it would go great with.

I colored her with my Copic markers then cut out the image with my Labels 10 Nestie. I then used Basic Grey Max and Whiskers 6X6 paper stack to created the layout. The white buttony bow is all from my stash.

I created the clouds by cutting out some "humps" on a sticky note and then using my C1 and B00 Copic markers over the humps. Then I used my colorless blender over that. I think they turned out well. I just need to figure out what to do with the bottom of the clouds. I should have colored it all blue I guess.

I also decided to try Barbara's grass. I don't think it turned out near a good as her's, but I'll keep working on it. The little flowers are created with a white gel pen and a pink Sharpie paint pen.

Dude Time Doodles November New Release

Woohoo! It's Wednesday! Hump day.

Time for a new release blog hop from Dude Time Doodles!! If you've come here from Ruth's blog, you are on the right track.

It's the last Wednesday of October!! Can you believe it? Time is flying by. Before you know it Halloween will be over and we'll be celebrating Thanksgiving. We've decided to stay home instead of travel this year so that means I'm gonna cook! It's been several years since I've cooked a turkey - has it changed any? heehee It's probably just gonna be me, hubby, and the kids. I think we are all looking forward to spending time together. We had fun in Chattanooga for my oldest son's birthday, but it was too short.

The artists at Bonibleaux Designs have outdone themselves this month. The new images are so much fun. You'll want to gobble them up quick! We've got a new Breast Cancer Awareness girl, a soldier, a new footballer, and several of Marlooney's snarky characters to add to the mix.

I chose Garret Guard for my project. He's tough, right? Don't let the splashes of pink fool you. He's showing his support for Breast Cancer Awareness month. (My son did the same thing in his football game a couple weeks ago - in honor of his Aunt T.)

I colored Garret with my Copic markers and cut him out with my Labels 2 Nestie. I then decided to create a football field with a green Copic marker and a white Sharpie paint pen. In the distance you can see the stadium and fans created with chalks.

Here's a close up of Garret. The papers I used are from my stash - all of them football themed. The bling and TOUCHDOWN sticker are also from my stash.

It's finally Friday! Whew. It's been cooler here - in the 50s the last couple of days and it's been heavenly.

Today also marks another new release from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.

This is Agent Popcorn Aiming. She is absolutely perfect, don't you think? Barbara has outdone herself this time! I colored her with my Copics and cut her out with my Labels 22 Nestie. I also colored the sidewalk and grass. I do not remember where the sentiment is from, sorry.

The paper I used is Basic Grey Life of the Party. The flowers, button, and brad are from my stash. I followed the sketch at Deconstructing Jen - #23 - but unfortunately, was too late to add it for a chance to win.

Operation Write Home Fundraiser

Hey there chicas!! Thanks for stopping by for the Operation Write Home fundraiser blog hop. If you have come here from Davi's blog, you are in the right place. If not, then go back to the beginning - here.

For those that don't know...Operation Write Home is a not-for-profit organization that collects and sends handmade greeting cards to American soldiers for their use in keeping in touch with their families back home.

They need to raise $13,000 to cover holiday shipping costs. .

To help with this, K 'n K Designs will be selling 7 new digi sets designed exclusively for this cause. Each "set" includes an image and some greetings, in both Jpeg an PNG file formats, all in a zip file. These sets are available for just $2 each, or in various value bundles (e.g. get them all for just $10!), with all proceeds (minus Paypal fees) donated to Operation Write Home. The sets can be purchased at the K 'n K blog from October 17th thru noon November 1st.

I am honored to be a part of this endeavor.

This little guy is Owl! I fell in love with the image and the sentiment as soon as I saw them. I combined the image with the sentiment in MS Word and printed it out on XPress It Copic paper. Then I colored the image with Copic markers, cut it out with my Labels 17 Nestie and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz distressed ink in Tea Dye while the paper was still in the die.

The papers I used are Bo Bunny Welcome Home 6X6 paper stack and solid green and blue cardstock. The star eyelets are from my stash.

Dude Time Doodles Support the Pink

Hello everybody!

So glad you've stopped by for a visit. I'd like to say HEY all of my followers - new and old. Thanks for reading my crazy blog.

I had a great weekend. Got to spend time with my crazy family. Saw my oldest son - whom we haven't seen for a good length of time since August 3rd! He turned 21 on Sunday. Where has the time gone?

Today starts a new inspirational challenge over at Dude Time Doodles. They are still celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness month and the challenge this week is again Think Pink.

I decided to follow the pirate theme and used Ahoy Matey Matt. I colored him with my Copic markers and fussy cut him out along with his "Save the TaTas" sign - which was actually a Ghoul's Crossing sign that I got off the internet.

All the papers I used are from my stash. I really like the black with pink flowers one. The ribbon and the chipboard flowers are also from my stash.

Girly Girl...

Welcome! I'm so glad you've stopped in to see me.

I apologize for being absent this week. I've been busy busy. Remember, it's October.

I'm so excited for the weekend. My daughter is coming into town. We are going to Chattanooga to visit my oldest son, watch his football game, and celebrate his birthday. His 21st birthday! I haven't seen him since the first weekend of September and I miss his silly smiling face.

But that's not until Saturday! Today begins a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges. Our challenges this fortnight is Girly Girl.

What do you think of when you think of Girly Girl? I think of girlie stuff. Shiny things. Pretty things. Frilly things. And to help with that I chose to use Melba Flora Hatter! If you haven't seen The Hatters, then you have been missing out.

Melba reminds me of a roaring 20s flapper girl with that long necklace, simple dress, and leg up in the air. I think she's doing the Charleston! That big hat just adds to her fantastic-ness!

I colored Melba with my Copic markers and fussy cut her out. The papers I've chosen are Cosmo Cricket Circa 1934. I used my Martha Stewart edge punch. The sentiment I created on my computer and cut out with my Spellbinders Metal Tags and Accents and sponged the edges with the cardstock still in the die. Then I added the bling at the bottom which I had in my stash.

Isn't she super? I just love her. I really like how this card turned out with the sketch, the papers, and the image!

So glad you've stopped by today. I've got some great new images from Little Miss Muffet Stamps to show you today. Barbara always has some of the *keewtest* images and she has out done herself this time.

First, Agent Bubble-gum Spying. I ab-solutely love this image. I'm partial to Agent Bubble-gum anyway - you can tell by my watermark on the photo - but this image is just so much fun.

I colored the image with my Copic markers and cut it out with one of my square Nesties. Then I used a bunch of different green Copics and just dotted all around her where grass would be. I did the same with blues for the sky. A cool effect, but I'll be doing it a little differently next time.

I decided to make an easel card. It's been a while since I made one and when I found the sketch I wanted to follow, I thought it would work good as an easel.

The paper I used is from Authentique Blissful 6X6 stack. I love this stack too! The felt flowers I found at Walmart of all places! The buttons and bling are from my stash. The sentiment is from Create with TLC and cut out with my Spellbinders Metal Tags and Accents.

Surprisingly, I had time to make a second card!! I know, it was awesome!!

This is Breena Stitching. Super cute, right? Yes, she is!! I printed the image out twice. I colored Breena with my Copics markers and then fussy cut her out without her wings.

Then I colored the second image with my Copics and pop dotted Breena onto the other image to give the image some dimension. Like the wings are actually behind her. I had cut the image out with my Labels 3 Nestie, sponged the edges while the image was still in the die, and then matted it with a solid blue cardstock.

The paper I used is from DCWV Once Upon A Time 4X6 stack. This sentiment is also from Create with TLC and cut out with my Spellbinders Metal Tags and Accents and sponged while still in the die.

Thinking Pink...

Woo fricking Hoo!

It's October!! Can you believe it? This month my Mom turns 77, my Dad turns 84, my BIL and nephew turn I don't know how many and my oldest turns 21!!! 21!!! OMGness - where has the time gone?

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month!! And to help bring awareness and to celebrate those who have fought this horrible disease personally or along with a loved one, Dude Time Doodles will be PINK!! That's right. All month, the dudes will be in pink.

Our first challenge of the month is to THINK PINK!! And help us get the word out. I've pulled out one of the oldie-but-goodie images, KO Kurt. Kurt really likes to smack those cancer cells where it hurts!

He definitely fights like a girl. That's why he wears those hot pink boxing gloves! I'm jealous - want some hot pink boxing gloves!!

I colored Kurt with my Copic markers, cut him out with my scalloped rectangle Nestie, and sponged around the edges with some pink ink while the image was still in the die.

All the paper is from my stash. The sentiment is from Dude Time Doodles and I cut it out with one of my fancy ribbon tag dies and just dabbed some pink ink on it. I should have changed it to "Fight Like a Chica!!" And for an added change, I put a velvety flower!

Here's a close up of KO Kurt. You can see that I pop dotted his hot pink (gotta get me some) boxing gloves. I really like that black paper with the pink flowers! I've had it for a while and am usually pretty stingy with it.

My little Texas pony

Howdy partner!

Today, my crafting buddy, Rex is at the vet. We're finally having to break down and get him neutered. We're also getting him checked for a UTI. He's been going where he's not supposed to.

I've still been thinking about my family and friends in Bastrop suffering through the aftermath of the biggest wildfire in Texas history by far. The fire consumed 34,068 acres and 1,554 houses. A large portion of Bastrop State Park and the Loblolly Pines were lost.

Today, there's a new challenger at Little Miss Muffet Challenges. The challenge this two weeks is animals or monsters.

I couldn't help, but color this image in Texas flags since Texas has been on my mind a lot lately. This is Patriotic Horse. I colored the image with my Copic markers, cut it out with my brand new Labels 22, and sponged some Tim Holtz distressed in tea dye around the edges while the image was still in the die.

The paper is Cosmo Cricket Wanted stack. I cut the Create with TLC sentiment out with my Twisted Metal Tags and Accents (also sponging the paper with it still in the die). The swirls behind it are also from the Twisted Metal Tags and Accents. The flowers and brad are from my stash.

Dude Time Doodles October New Release Blog Hop

WooHoo. It's the last Wednesday of September! Time sure has flown by. Before we know it, it'll be Halloween!

OOH! And being the last Wednesday of the month means??? That's right! A new release blog hop at Dude Time Doodles! If you've arrived here from Anne's blog, then you are rocking that maze! If not, then you should go back to the beginning and try to not get lost next time.

Bonibleaux Designs has some super images in the store for you this month. Just in time for Halloween and the Fall.

I decided to get a little spooky with it! heehee - get it? Instead of Giggy With It - I'm spooky with it. heehee This is Grim Grisham. Hopefully this isn't what John looks like when he's finally finished with a book. heehee - Okay, I'm just full of it today. Sorry.

I created my spooky scene by pairing Grim with a Pattie's Creation Designs image (Tree Owl Moon) and Dude Time Doodles headstone 2. I resized one of the headstones so that it was a little taller and slimmer than the other. I did all that in Paint.net. Then I colored the image with my Copics and cut it out with my large square Nestie. The paper is Authentique Glowing matted with solid cardstock. I just love that Glowing paper stack!

I then took my chalks and daubed around the moon with a yellow. Then took the charcoal gray and ran it across the entire sky part of the image. Then with a small applicator I took the darkest red and orange and streaked the color across the sky. I think my eerie sky turned out pretty good. What do you think? I printed out a Halloween ticket that says "Time for a coffin break!" and added a couple brads.

Little Miss Muffet New Release

It's finally Friday!! I keep singing that song like they play on the radio. It's finally Friday! Whoohoo!!

It's finally Friday and it's another new release day at Little Miss Muffet Challenges!! Yesterday Harvest Swan and Megan debuted. Today is Breena and Jada.

I chose to work with Breena. She is just super sweet. I love how her hair is up in a pony and the leaves on her dress are cute! I paired Breena with a Make It Crafty scene "pebble path".

I colored Breena and the pebble path with my Copic markers and fussy cut her out. The pebble path I cut out with my Labels 17 Nestie, sponged some blue chalk for clouds, and matted it with brown cardstock. It's hard to tell in these picture, but I put brown glitter glue all around the edge and Stickles on the tips of Breena wings.

Here's a new view I've seen others use on their blogs. I think it helps to see the dimension of the card. As you can see, I've pop dotted Breena so that she appears to be flying over the pebble path.

My paper is Welcome Home from Bo Bunny and solid color cardstock. The background paper is from a K&Company huge stack I've had since last Christmas. The sentiment is from Create with TLC.

Woohoo!!! Or Wooty Hoot as my friend Boni likes to say.

I'm so glad that they've put out the fires in Bastrop TX!! 90% contained - which means it's basically out, but just smoldering tree stumps, etc. I haven't mentioned much about this here, but I was born and raised in Bastrop. My immediately family still lives there. I've been worried sick about family and friends. Luckily, my immediate family was not evacuated and was not close to the fire. Cousins, friends, High School friends parents, etc have lost absolutely everything. Others have been extremely blessed and their houses have survived. The Bastrop State Park is virtually gone. The Lob Lolly Pines gone. Well, not all of them. It's devastating to think about. Horrifying to look at. But all of my family is safe and that's what's important.

Don't know if this guy on the far left looks familiar to you or not, but he showed up in Bastrop to help. That's Jack Black - Mr. Nacho Libre himself and my SIL is the third from the right along with a few fire fighters from Cali.

Here's a video. My cousin is one of the men in this video. He is not a volunteer fireman regularly, but he was when the fire started and until there wasn't anything else he could do.

Today over at Dude Time Doodles we're celebrating our heroes. His is Howie HotHotHot!!! Isn't he smokin'? He's winking at ya, be careful. He's a real Casanova.

I colored Howie with my Copic markers, cut him out with my Labels 10 Nestie, and sponged the edges while the image was still in the die. I matted the image with some kraft cardstock. All the papers are from my stash.

I kept this card clean and simple. No embellies, because I wanted the image to be focal point of the card. I found the sentiment online and boy, that could be take a lot of ways!

Winged things...

Howdy chicas! So glad you stopped in for a visit today.

We're finally on the downward slide for this week. I've suffered with a headache since Tuesday. I get these headaches often. Well, less often than I used to and they feel exactly like sinus headaches. Although I don't think that's what they are.

Anyway, enough about me. I've been super psyched this week, because my oldest son's UTC Mocs moved up to #14 in the FCS polls after their win against Jacksonville State which was ranked 10th at the time!!! Two of the players were also named Players of the Week! This Saturday they play Eastern Kentucky - sure wish I could go watch him play. Maybe in a week or two.

There is a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges today! The challenge is to include winged things in your project. I chose to use Adela & Dido. This image is just so super cute. Love the huge fairy wings and the cute little puppy.

I colored the image with my Copics then cut it out (and the wings outside the die) with my brand spanking new Labels 22 Nestie and sponged around the edges while the image was still in the die. Then I matted it with some burgundy cardstock and then used the next biggest Labels 22 die for the bottom layer. I also added Stickles to the wings, her bodice and lacey trim of the bottom of her dress, and in the corner of her (which you can't really see in these photos).

The paper is from DCWV "Once Upon A Time" paper stack. The flowers and brads are from my stash. I also used my brand spanking new Floral Flourishes Shapabilities dies to create the swirls on the left of the image and flowers.

The challenge runs for 2 weeks so you have ample time to participate.

Now that I feel a little better, let's put some more information in here. What do you say?

Today there is a freebie challenge happening over at Dude Time Doodles and in enough time for Halloween.

This little dude who wants to suck your blood in his pink skivvies is Billy Bat. (Click on the image for a closer look at Billy in his skivvies!)

After coloring him with my Copics, I put Billy with a cool and spooky Welcome gate (also colored with Copics and sponged black ink) that I've had in my stash for a while. I hinged the gate and put Billy on one side.

Last Pattie's Creations Design Challenge Post

Happy Friday! I've got some sad news today.

Today is my last post as a Design Team Member for Pattie's Creations Design Challenges! Pattie was the first person to take me on as a design team member almost a year ago! I've had so much fun using her Pattieboop and Allie images and I will truly miss presenting her images to you. Don't for a minute think I won't be using them - I just won't get to be one of the first to show them to you!

The challenge for this two weeks is to use girlie things in your project. Well, I'm not your average every day girlie girl, so my creation is a little different from dresses, shoes, or purses.

I went with VW Beetle and paper pieced the body of the car with some pink flowery paper from my stash. I think it turned out perfectly!! At least it turned out how I wanted it to. I used my W1 copic marker to give the car some shadows. I definitely have a little flower child going on with this project.

I cut around inside the wind-shield and the head-lights. Then I used Diamond Glaze for the windshield and over the Copic markers in the headlights. This image is perfect for paper piecing. I used papers, flowers, and brads from my stash.

The sentiment is from a song by Rodney Atkins "Take a Back Road". I've wanted to use that portion of the song as a sentiment for a while and I finally did!! YeeHaw!! I created it in Paint.net all by my lonesome.

Here you can kinda see the Diamond Glaze on the wind-shield (See that bubble over the right hand wiper?), the shadowing I've done on the hood of the car, and more of the detail that went into the image.

Little Miss Muffet Stamps New Release

Wow! This week is going by fast and I've been a day behind every day!

I'm so glad you decided to stop in for a visit today. I have a great new release image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps to share with you.

Let me introduce you to Melanie! I fell in love with this image as soon as I saw her. I came up with the idea to have her sitting on a crescent moon when we were driving from Kansas City MO to Lincoln NE last weekend.

I colored Melanie with my copic markers. Tried hard to make it look as the star was glowing on her face and clothes. I think I got close. I fussy cut most of her out and then used two of my circle Nesties to create the moon. I then sponged yellow ink on the moon.

I used some of my new Authentique Blissful 6X6 paper stack for this project along with some new solid cardstock. The flowers and bling are from my stash. I pop dotted Melanie and the moon onto a solid navy cardstock that I cut out with my lacey circles Nestie.

I followed the sketch over at Fetch-a-Sketch.

Hagar the Horrible...

We're in September!! Can you believe it? September? Wow, time flies.

It's the first Wednesday of the month and you know what that means? A new sketch challenge over at Dude Time Doodles. Dudette Tammy has a great sketch for you. Here it is...

My apologies for the clarity.

For this challenge, I used a new Dude Time Doodle image. Meet Hagar the Horrible!! He looks very evil, doesn't he? You'd never guess he was the most eligible bachelor in Dudeville! Well, he is. All the ladies are pining after him and want him to ask them to the Dudeville Holler Festival next month!

I've colored Hagar with my Copics, cut him out with my Labels 10 nestie, and sponged some bright green ink around the edges with the image still in the die. I'm very very happy with how Hagar turned out - the shading of his jacket and his green face!

Here's a close up of Hagar, so you can tell why all the ladies are swooning over him. He's available in the store right now. There's also a sale on all Halloween images (unfortunately, Hagar is a new Dude and not in the sale).

Coloring with purples, blues, and green

Whew! What a week. So glad you've stopped by before you head on out for a cold one. You know it's 5 o'clock somewhere!

I'm super excited, because tomorrow we'll be heading to Nebraska later this afternoon, meeting up with my daughter, and going to see my oldest son play the Cornhuskers!! My hubby is still giving him a hard time about wearing read instead of UTC navy and gold!! GO MOCS!!! We'll be having some fun in the heartland for Labor Day weekend.

But I'm getting ahead of myself. Today begins a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Challenges. Our challenge today is to create a project with purples, blue, and greens. OOH! Purple, you know that's my favorite!! This challenge is right up my alley!

I chose Agent Cupcake Spotted along with pebble path from Make It Crafty to work with this time and I used a lot of purple on her. Her hair, her shirt, her shorts, the bomb on the cupcake, and the flowers!! Yep, a lot of purple.

The images are colored with Copics, die cut with my largest square nestie (I've got a new way of storing my Nesties, btw - another post for that), and matted onto a large purple lacey square Nestie. I used papers, ribbon, flowers, and buttons from my stash. The sentiment is from Create with TLC and die cut with one of the fancy tag from Spellbinders.

I decided to attempt to make a cloudy sky in the back-ground, but I definitely need more practice with this technique. I do like the contrast between the deep purples and the almost neon lime green!

Thank you so much for stopping by today. There's a lot going on over at Dude Time Doodles. The celebration of their 1st birthday is going strong and there is still time to enter their Scavenger Crawl for many prizes. You can go here to begin the crawl.

And today they are introducing new citizens to Dudeville! They have a new postman and lawn boy. Oh and I almost forgot. Ted Tight End is back in town for football training camp after the NFL lockout ended. Doesn't he look fierce? Like the Little Giants chewing on Alka-Selzter tablets in that movie!

Coloring sunsets...

Hi there!

Thanks for swinging by today. It's been one heck of a week! Whew! I'm so glad it's the weekend. Although that doesn't mean I get to chill or anything - work, work, work.

I'm bummed, because this is my last submission as a guest designer for Make It Colourful! It's been a trip to say the least. These ladies will challenge anyone and beat the pants off of them. I've learned a lot from them and hope to continue learning from them.

Our challenge this time was to color a sunset with clouds. WOW! This one was a toughy. I practiced several different techniques. Used several different colors. I finally gave up after this one.

I used big tree and the park bench from the urban scene collection from Make It Crafty. And Queens Cutie from Kenny K. I had originally thought of having her sit on the seat of the bench. Then I changed my mind and put her on the back rest.

As I said, I used many different colors and finally settled on the YRs and the BVs. I pop dotted Queens Cutie to give it some dimension. I have not made this into a card yet. I'm really not sure if I want to. What do you think?

I hope you'll give the Make It Colourful sunset with clouds challenge a try. It'll get your mojo flowing for sure!

Howdy chicas!!

Thanks for stopping by today. I keep thinking today is Friday! Not good! I've been meeting with accountants this week and I do not like doing that. I'll procrastinate as long as I possibly can. Unfortunately, it's part of my job. Maybe one of these days, I'll learn to like that part.

With my new laptop, I need to figure out how to off the dang touch pad when my mouse is plugged in, because I am constantly touching it when I'm typing and that makes the cursor jump all over the page! UGH!

I fell in love with School Turtle. I tI'll have to send it to my sister, as she just started a new school year this past Monday. She normally runs the In School Suspension class in the middle school where she lives - all the ones who get into trouble - and let me tell you, she doesn't take nothin' off a nobody!! But for a few weeks this year, she will be teaching social studies and I know she's loving it!

The day has finally arrived. We've been preparing for over a month. Putting the finishing touches on our projects. You've heard the hype. It's time we show you the goods.

I colored the badges and Deputy Dave with my Copics, fuzzy cut them out, and pop dotted them onto the luminaria. I added a brass brad in the upper corner. Simple, but super cool.

Here's a picture of the luminaria lit. It's really pretty cool. I can see myself making some more of these in the future. Maybe for birthday presents. It is a little small and I would like to make them a little bigger so I'll have to alter the dimensions.

Spectacular Sunday to you chicas!

We're back from seeing my oldest son yesterday. We went and visited, watched his football scrimmage, and had dinner. All in all a great visit.

Last week, I wrote about cleaning all of my Copic markers and I promised I would post about the results. After cleaning all of the plastic around the nibs of each markers, the caps, and soaking some nibs in alcohol to clean them - I would say that for the most part it was a success in getting the "sticky" out of the nib. However, I've found that I have several other markers that needed to be refilled. So, I'm having to order even more refill ink.

I've had my Copics for about a year and a half and use them frequently - so I would say it's probably about time I'd have to refill them. It's just danged expensive to do. So, I'm kinda having to pick which ones I use more and order those and wait on others. Which can get a little hairy when I'm coloring an image.

Also last week, I posted an anni-versary card that my sister requested. Well, she requested another and I thought I'd share it as well.

This image is from Just Inklined. It's Flossy Congrats! These two elderly folks just crack me up. They can't even drink the same thing - the women has to drink champagne and the man cheap beer. I can see them sitting in the family room with the rest of their grandchildren running all over the place!

I colored the image with my Copics and just had to make the women a red hatter! The paper is all Basic Grey Life of the Party and the bling is from my stash.

I didn't add any ribbon to this card. I wanted the image to be the focal point.

Grounding your image...

Hola chicas!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I hope you find something to inspire you and maybe get your creative mojo working.

Today is my second challenge over at Make It Colourful. It would have been my third, but the 2nd challenge went awry when my Copics acted up. That was the "make it look wet" challenge. This week's challenge is to ground your image - color a ground for your image.

I have been wanting to color and use Rosie to school for some time now. She's just so sassy! So, I decided to create a scene of Rosie walking to school. And where else would Rosie be walking to school, but on a sidewalk myself.

I also used the big tree image and then created the sidewalk.

I colored it all with my Copics, cut it out with the largest square Nestie and matted it with the largest lacey square Nestie.

The papers are all Basic Grey Lemonade collection. I used my EK Success edge punch. The flowers and brads are from my stash.

Here's a close up of Rosie. I used Diamond Glaze on her lips for lip gloss and the light caught on it just right for this picture! That is not white gel pen - it's the light.

50th anniversary

Hello chicas! Happy Friday!

This is Rex. I've had him for 2 years. I adopted him a week or so after my oldest son left for college. He hangs on the back of my chair when I color and create!! He is also notorious for walking all over my desk begging for attention and will sometimes decided to sleep on my laptop or papers that I keep thrown all over my desk. He's a great kittie when he's not biting my ankles and jumping at me as I pass from room to room.

Today, I'm going to share a card that I made on request of my sister for her in-laws' 50th wedding anniversary.

This image is from Make It Crafty and is called Flirty Seniors. I colored the image with my Copic markers (which I've found I need to refill even more of them - ARGH!). I then cut out the image with my largest Labels 17 Nestie, matted it with some green cardstock, and faux stitched the edges. I also used Diamond Glaze on her glasses.

The sentiment was found on the web and I believe it says a lot about people who have been married for 50 years! "Love has no age as it is always renewing itself." You do have to renew your love for the one you marry - every day - otherwise, it wouldn't last. It's easy to find all the faults your husband or wife has. But true love doesn't look at them.

I followed the sketch at Paperworks Co. and will be entering this card into their challenge - #94. It's hard to see, but the scallops are there on the front of the card as well.

Using multiple images...

Hello chicas!

I hope everyone has had a great week. I've had some ups and a down or two, but for the most part, it's been a great week. Celebrated my hubby's and my youngest son's birthdays, gotten a lot of stuff done (just not crafty stuff), and am looking forward to the weekend.

Today begins a new challenge at Little Miss Muffet Stamps. We are challenged with using multiple images. You can do this so many different way, but my take on mulitple images is to use two (or even more) images together to make a scene.

My creation combines Monster Dreams and Monster Balloons. Monster Dreams is looking up in awe as Monster Balloons floats away in the clouds. Dreams doesn't even realize that his ice cream cone is falling apart!

I colored the images with my Copics, fussy cut out Monster Dreams and pop dotted him to the front of the card. I cut Monster Balloons outside of the largest Labels 2 Nestie and matted it to some orange cardstock from my stash. The rest of the paper is Basic Grey Life of the Party. The background paper actually has circles of ice cream cones on it!

Here's a side view so you can see the pop dotted Monster Dreams. The flowers, ribbon, and "fly" bling I've had in my stash for a while. The brad is also Basic Grey Life of the Party.

"Fly" actually had a tail on the "f", but I cut it off and put it behind the flower at the bottom to give it a little more dimension.

Here's a close up of the images. I'm happy with how this card turned out. This is my second attempt at coloring clouds with my Copics. They look better, but I think I will only improve with more practice.

August Inspiration Challenge at Dude Time Doodles

Welcome chicas! I'm psyched to have you here today.

It's hump day and we'll soon be on the down hill slide of the week. I'm excited, because I get to see my oldest son this weekend, watch his football scrimmage, and have some alone time with hubby!

I'm also excited, because today begins another inspirational challenge at Dude Time Doodles! As you know, I'm the host for this challenge and I try to come up with some twist or additional inspiration or theme. This month, I've decided we need to celebrate sports. With the NFL Lockout *finally* over, and college football getting ready to start I think it's the right time. Don't you?

Since I'm a Texas girl and I know that the official sport of Texas is rodeo (bull riding, barrel racing, calf roping, sheep riding for the youngsters, and well, anything you have to wear a cowboy hat for) I decided to get Rodeo Randy out for his calf roping championship run.

I colored Randy with my Copic markers (after I cleaned each and every one of them - approximately 160 of them - on the outside, around the nib, and inside the cap *and* also cleaned some of the nibs - which I still need to post the results on), cut the image out with my Labels 17 Nestie, and sponged around the edges.

I matted him with some dark brown paper, added some brown gingham ribbon, and the twine with the revolvers (a gift from an old DT Member, Theresa - THANKS!).

The sentiment is actually the back of the bandana paper underneath Randy cut out with a Lacey Circle Nestie.

On the inside I used some of the same brown gingham paper in the background, with the back of the bandana paper and cut out some kraft paper with a large Labels 17 after I printed the sentiment in MS Word. Anyone familiar with Big and Rich will know this song.

Cleaning Copics

Good morning chicas! Glad you stopped by today.

I mentioned in a previous post this week that I've been having problems with my Copic markers getting sticky and my coloring not turning out as I would like. This problem kept me from completing the wet look challenge at Make It Colourful! I've been really bummed about it. Once I get the problem resolved I will be attempting the challenge.

I've searched the internet. I've asked people I trust what they've experienced. I've gotten several different responses.

As far as I can tell, it doesn't matter what paper I use. People have the same problem using Georgia-Pacific, Neenah, Copic XPress It, Make It Crafty blending card, and everything in between. It could depend on *how* you color - do you put many many layers down? I don't, yet I still have the same problems.

Funny thing is I didn't begin to have this problem until I began to use Copic Xpress It paper about a month ago. I do not believe it's just the paper. It's happening mostly with darker pigmented markers. Maybe the Copic Xpress It is coated. I don't know.

Barbara of Forgotten Scraps sent a tutorial link from Tickled Pink and suggested that I use it. So, I'm using it. I'm in the middle of soaking the nibs in rubbing alcohol. The first nib I tried to take off got stuck in the barrel and the nib broke off. Luckily, I have extra nibs.

Once I'm done with cleaning the nibs, the marker body (plastic around the nib), and the caps I'll be sure to let you know what I've found. Whether or not it worked, etc.

So, that's what I'm doing today. Because tomorrow, I'm going to want to color (have to for DT projects) and hopefully this will work! Otherwise, I'm at a loss and up a creek.

Pattie's Creations Design Challenge #28

I've been working on a coloring challenge that has been kicking my backside repeatedly. It's not helping that my Copics have decided to get sticky *and* some are drying up. So, I'm having to change colors in the middle or abandon others. I normally don't have to start over much, but this challenge is tough.

Today begins a new challenge at Pattie's Creations Design Challenges! Bring out your animal and insects stamps, because that's the challenge this go 'round. Pattie has some great images to choose from in her Etsy store.

This image is Pattieboop and Allie on Safari. They have a couple of new friends with them too. I saw this image and I just had to have it! It's super cute and was so much fun to color.

I colored it with my Copics, cut it out with my large Labels 2 Nestie and sponged the edges with black ink. The papers are Basic Grey Max & Whiskers. The flowers, buttons, and brad are from my stash.

All My Possessions...

Good morning to you chicas!

I hope you're having a fantastic day. It is finally starting to cool down a little here in Mid-TN. We're at 88-90 instead of 97-98!

Today, I am going to showcase a new release image from Little Miss Muffet Stamps.

This precious image is called Isabella & Belle. I colored the image with my Copic markers and cut out the image with my Labels 10 Nestie. Instead of sponging the edges or around the edges while the die was still on, I doodled some stitching around the edges.

The paper is Cosmo Cricket Circa 1939. I love this paper stack! The flowers, brad, swirly paperclip, and pearls are from my stash. Unfortunately, I cannot remember where the sentiment comes from, but I cut it out with my Fancy Ribbon Tags Spellbinder die and sponged around the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Vintage Ink. I felt it went very well with the image.

Make It Colorful

Hi'ya chicas! So glad you've peeked in today.

Exciting things happening around here. I've made a new design team, will be saying goodbye to another in a few weeks (ok not so exciting, I know, but when one door closes...), *and* I've been asked to be a Guest Designer for Make It Colourful for the month of August!! See, exciting things.

To start off my month with Make It Colourful, the challenge is to color with PINK!!! Our sponsor for this challenge is Bunny Zoe Crafts. The winner will get a gift certificate to the store worth £10!!

So, I colored in pink. And green with a little blue and gold thrown in the mix. This lovely lady is Elizabeth J from Make It Crafty's latest release of Steampunk and Victorian images. I fell in love with EJ (my nickname for her) the first time I saw her. Her dress can be a challenge to color and get it looking right. It will definitely test your Copics shading and blending skills, BUT...she's gorgeous and has a ton of style and 'tude.

The background is also a Make It Crafty image appropriately called Rose Garden. A great addition for the Elizabeth J image.

The papers, ribbon, flowers, and bling are from my stash. At times I think this card is a little busy, but then it's been growing on me.

Welcome chicas! So glad you came by today. I've got that old Pointer Sisters song "I'm so excited!" stuck in my head. I have a good reason. Honest!

About a month ago, I submitted some artwork and my crafty resume to Barbara over at Little Miss Muffet Stamps Challenges during her DT Call. Today, I can finally tell everyone else...I made it!!! Yes, that's the happy dance yet again. If you haven't already, you have *got* to check these stamps out. So very cute.

Today we are starting a new challenge. Your challenge is to go outside the diecut. For my take on the challenge, I used this super cute image called Monster Winds.

I colored Monster and his kite with my Copics and cut him out with my oval Nestie. I also tried coloring the sky with my copics. A technique I lifted from Annika Ryan here. I don't think mine looks anything life her's, but it was my first shot and she's been doing this for a lot longer than I have.

The papers are K&Company and from my stash. I distressed the bottom layer and lightly sponged some distressed ink along the edges. I incorporated the little key charm into the button bow and added some bling from my stash.

Dude Time Doodles August Sketch Challenge

How do chicas!?! Glad you stopped by for a visit today.

It's the first Wednesday of August! Where has the time gone?? My oldest has gone back to UTC for football camp. He's super excited, because they've moved him to linebacker, but we won't see him again for a while. My middle will begin his senior year of high school on Monday and my youngest will be returning to Texas on Sunday. This summer went by quickly, but with little raucous - which is always good.

Anyway, like I said...it's the first Wednesday of August and you all know that means. A sketch challenge at Dude Time Doodles!! Here's the sketch that Tammy has given us this month:

THE RULES

You will have one week to flip the Sketch, twist the Sketch, work the Sketch and submit the Sketch.

You are not required to use Bonibleaux Designs although it would make us really really happy and giggle a lot if you did!

MUST be a masculine themed card, you can use humor, innuendo, be a little naughty, sarcastic, but it has got to be for a DUDE!

Here's my take on the challenge. This is Ernie Carpenter. He's been slaving away on his "Honey Do" list and isn't making very good progress, because he keeps slamming his fingers with that hammer!

I colored Ernie with my Copic markers, cut the image with my Labels 10 Nestie, and sponged the edges while the image was still in the die. I'll get that technique down one of these days!! The papers are from my stash. The screw paper is something my sister gave me for Christmas and I finally used it!!

Pattie's Creations Design Challenges # 27

Hi there chicas! Happy Friday to you.

I'm off for some much needed R & R with my hubby and kids this weekend. I can't wait to have some time to unwind, destress, and just be with family.

Today starts a new challenge at Pattie's Creations Design Challenges. The challenge this time is stitching - faux or real. She is also having a DT Call. Be sure to check out the deets and submit your crafty resume for a chance to be on the team.

This image is morning glory and you can get it here. This is a simple image. Very fun to color and can make an elegant card. I colored the image with my copic markers. I cut it out with my circle Nestie and sponged the edges with pink chalk. The background is cut with my lacey circle Nestie.

Here's a closer view of the image. I also used Stickles around the edges of the morning glory to give it a sparkle. The papers are all from my stash, as well as the ribbon, flowers and buttons. If you look hard, you can see that even the paper behind the image on the left has stitching as well.

Dude Time Doodles August New Release Blog Hop

How are my chicas today? I hope everyone is doing well. It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood! Hot, but beautiful!

It's the last Wednesday of the month and you know what that means!?! A new release blog hop at Dude Time Doodles!!! If you've gotten here from Janet's blog then you are on the right track.

Before we go further, I'd like to welcome back a familiar face to the Dudette circle. Chrissy! She's back from her sabbactical and raring to go! All the Dudettes are super excited to have her back.

Bonibleaux Designs has some really cool images for you this month. A mitigating judge, a hot hot hottie, an inviting dentist, even a demanding wife and much, much more!

I decided to use the inviting dentist. This is Merle Molar. He's calling you into his chair or torture. He looks harmless enough now, but when he gets you where he wants you, in his chair, he has all sorts of ways to make you talk! Or not talk. Can you tell I do not like the dentist?

I've colored Merle with my Copic markers, cut the image out with my Labels 17 Nestie, and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed denim ink. For his spectacles, I used Diamond Glaze - makes his eyes kinda buggy. The papers are K&Company and DCWV Latte stacks. The brads are from my stash.

In the close up, you can see he's mo-tioning with his finger for you to follow him back to his torture chamber. heehee

I found this quote on the web. I think it's kinda funny. "A smile is like tight underwear...it makes your cheeks go up." heehee Is that not hiliarious?

Hello chicas! I'm glad you've stopped by today.

The weather isn't quite as hot today as it has been so we have a little bit of a break.

I had a terrible headache yesterday morning and my shoulder has really been giving me fits. Luckily the headache slowly went away and I was able to create a couple cards. Coloring and creating always seems to relax me and get my mind off worries. I should really do it more often. Here's one of my creations...

This is Butterfly Kisses from Little Miss Muffet Stamps. I colored her with my Copics, cut the image out with a medium Labels 10 Nestie, and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Tea Dye Ink. I fussy cut another Labels 10 Nestie out of dark purple cardstock from my stash. The other papers are from a DCWV Once Upon A Time cardstock stack my youngest son gave me for Mother's Day. The flowers, brads, and button are from my stash.

As you can see, I left some of the image outside of the Nestie. This is always a challenge for me, because it never seems to look right.

Dude Time Doodles July Inspirational Challenge

It's the third Wednesday of the month and we all know what that means...

Inspirational Challenge at Dude Time Doodles! And here is your photo / color inspiration for this month...

For this challenge, I decided to use C. BizKit after I found the sentiment on a list that my sister sent me a while back.

"Destined for greatness...just pacing myself"

This jockey wants so desperately to be riding at the Kentucky Derby, but just can't cut the mustard. So, he rides the kiddie carousel horses in front of the grocery store!

I colored him with my Copics, cut him out with my square Nestie, and sponged the edges with the die left on. I cut out the beginning of the sentiment with my fancy tags Nestie and attached it with some twine. All the papers used are from my stash.

Here's a closer look at the front. I added some white gel pen to the horse.

And a look at the inside of the card reveals the rest of the sentiment.

Being fabulous is hard work...

Hello again! You guys are in luck. Two posts today! Scroll down for my notebook cover post.

Another fun digital stamp company that I've found is Make It Crafty. They sell a lot more than stamps, but since they are in Australia, digital stamps will be all I can purchase from then on my craft budget. Something else you'll find at Make It Crafty is scene building digital stamps that are great for any project.

They just released some awesome images along with Tiddly Inks (another favorite) that are absolutely gorgeous Steampunk images!

This is Elizabeth J. I fell in love with this image when Zoe posted her on her blog as a tease for the new release. Zoe's coloring is absolutely to die for in red and I knew I couldn't match her skills, so I decided on blue.

I started out just coloring with my B21, B23, and B24 Copics and finally got the dress as I wanted it it. Then I kept going back and forth on what color I should do the bodice and stockings. Then I figured a light gray; almost white would work well.

I cut the image out with my Labels 10 Nestie, and sponged some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Vintage Photo around the edges with the die still on. This is when I decided to make something like an old country photo out of the card.

I fussy cut a Labels 10 Nestie for the background paper behind the image. I had some light blue paper in my stash from making my nephew's wedding invitations and some light blue ribbon. I love the look of light blue on brown so that's what I went for.

Here's a super close photo of the image. I added Stickles to the roses in her hair and to the tops of her stockings. I added some flowers and brads from my stash. Then added the sentiment from Create with TLC, which I think goes very well with the image!

Once I was finished, I was very pleased with how this card turned out. If you hurry, you can still get 15% off of the new release images at Make It Crafty and Tiddly Inks.

Heellllooooo!! Said in my Mrs. Doubtfire voice! So glad you stopped in to see me today.

In my surfing the web for inspiration and some just can't live without digital stamps, I've stumbled upon a couple things that are really neat.

1. A "new to me" Copic color combination for blonde hair!

2. A couple "new to me" digital stamp companies.

I'll start with one of the digital stamp companies. It's Little Miss Muffet Stamps. Barbara of Forgotten Scraps runs the place and I must say, she does such a great job. I fell in love with this image right away.

This is Bubblegum Agent. Is she not super gorgeous!?! I love her long braid and the look on her face as she's blowing the perfect bubble!

Little Miss Muffet also has a challenge blog. And I've decided to enter this notebook cover in their challenge to make anything but a card. However, if you use a Little Miss Muffet image, then the rules say it's always "Anything Goes".

Here's a closer look at Bubblegum Agent. I colored her with my Copic markers, cut the image out with my oval Nesties, and sponged some light pink chalk around the edges with the die still on.

And here's where I colored the blonde hair. I used E50, E51, and E53. I really like how it turned out. What about you? So many times the blondes end up too gold or too brassy. I think this looks more natural.

Here you can see a side view of the notebook. You also get the first look at my first attempt with the Sew Easy tool. I'll be giving a demonstration of it in a couple days. I decided to keep the cover fairly simple so very little embellies - all from my stash. I used my scalloped EK punch for the green background paper, K&Company papers, and some from my stash.

Pattie's Creations Design Challenge #26

As you can see, I've changed things up a bit. I like it. What about you?

It's finally Friday! T. G. I. F. and I just wish it would rain. We just need some relief from the heat! It's been hovering around 95+ for the last week.

Today starts a new challenge at Pattie's Creations Design Challenges. The challenge this go around is to use GLITTER OR BLING.

I've chosen to use bling! Bling on the corners. Bling at the bottom. Bling on the flowers. Lots and lots of bling!

I used Fairy Pattieboop. I colored her with my Copic markers, cut the image out with my circle Nestie, and sponged some very soft pink chalk around the edges. I used my ribbon hole punch at the bottom and weaved some sheer pink ribbon thru and added the belt buckle embellie.

I followed a sketch over at The Pixie Cottage, but the challenge is over already. bummer

The only thing that could make this any bling-y-er is if I had remembered to add Stickles to Pattie's wings!

Dude Time Doodles Freebie Challenge

Today over at Dude Time Doodles they are having their monthly Guest Designer Challenge with Freebie! Today's freebie...wait, there's two freebies today...Rocco Soccer and a soccer ball. He thinks he can bend it like Beckham! Poor thing doesn't realize that his foot / eye coordination is terrible and he either misses the ball altogether or uses his knee instead of his foot.

I decided to color Rocco with my kids high school colors - black and gold - using my Copics. I really like how the coloring turned out. I cut him out with my Labels 10 and left the soccer ball partially out of the die and then pop dotted another one over it.

I followed the sketch over at My Time Made Easy and turned it into an easel card.

I thought for a long time as to what sentiment I should use. Then I remembered about the movie "Bend It Like Beckham" and thought that would be a good one. I think it works.

Today, Dude Time Doodles is sponsoring Card Patterns Sketch Challenge.

Some of the Dudettes decided to play along for fun! They created some awesome projects so be sure to visit each one (you can find a link in my sidebar).

I decided to use Dale Isenhardt for my project and put a small twist to the sketch by putting the circle slightly over the top edge. I colored Dale with my Copics, fussy cut him out and pop dotted him to the card. I used a lot of cardstock and paper from my stash and *finally* found a use for my "Old Guys Rule" paper from Creative Imaginations that I purchased from the store that was hosting Suzanne Dean's Copic's class back in gosh...February!!

My sister gave me some really cool buttons for Christmas and the little car is one of them. I thought it appropriate for this card. Even the ribbon looks good, don't you think?

So, the sketch is super easy to follow and fun fun fun! I hope you'll be able to participate!

Dude Time Doodles July Sketch Challenge

I decided to use Super Trooper Tripp for this challenge. I think he looks so into his job! I colored him with my Copic markers, cut the image with my trusty Fiskars trimmer and them followed the sketch.

The sentiment is from Create with TLC. I added some bling to spice it up a little.

How do chicas!!

I hope all of you had a wonderful 4th of July! We had a blast at the lake. It was good to have some family time and not have to worry about work. My husband and I believe family means the most in life and we strive to instill those same ideas in our kids. My youngest son ran into a friend from school while he was at the movies with us last weekend and they said "Every time we see you, you're with your family". We have the best time together - laugh at inside jokes, funny memories, and create new memories every day.

So, I've got a couple more projects that I created for Stamp-by-Step to show you. I hope you've enjoyed seeing all of them. I know that I had fun creating them. I sure wish I could carve out more time to be able to create one card a day! How happy that would make me. But...not yet.

OMGness! Two great companies releasing together

I just read that a couple of my favorite digital stamp sites are going to be releasing images together! Make it Crafty and Tiddly Inks will be releasing Steampunk and Victorian images together on July 14th.

How do chicas!

This weekend we are getting to go have some fun away from the house and shop! We're headed to the lake for some boating / SeaDoo action. The kids will wakeboard and I'll be trying to not become red as a lobster. My SIL and BIL will be joining us, along with my oldest son's girlfriend. We are all excited. I hope to get some good pictures to share.

I promised you some more of the projects that I created for Stamp-by-Step and you know I don't like to disappoint. I really had a lot of fun with these images, papers, and embellies. I hope you like them too.

I had a lot of fun coloring this image - especially the beach and water. I added some Stickles to the waves coming to shore to get it that bubbly look.
