Thank you...

Hello.  Thanks so much for stopping by today.  So glad you did.

I've started working on my son's graduation announcements.  His Aunt took over 200 pictures and we settled on a few of them.  Then narrowed them down to a couple and settled on one for the announcement and one for thank you notes.  Last week I worked on a prototype for the card and came up with something I think will be pretty good.  I'll be showing that at a later date.

I had some time to color up with this little image.  It's Thank You from Saturated Canary.  She is just precious!!

The flowers, ribbon, button and brads are from my stash.  They are cherry blossoms and Reflections.  The paper is My Minds Eye Miss Caroline that I purchased from Peachy Cheap a while back.

I colored the image with my Copic markers in colors that I would not normally use.  Pastels.  I cut the image out with my Labels 10 Nestie and dotted the background with the same colors I colored the image with and added some Stickles as well.

I have entered this card into the following challenges:

Card Positioning Systems:  #261 sketch
The Shabby Tea Room:  photo inspiration
Make It Monday:  anything goes
Creative Stamp Friends:  bingo (pastel / ribbon / button)
Allsorts Challenge:  buttons and thread

Hope you have a great day!

Later chicas!

Free 2 be...

Hello!  So glad you could stop by for a visit today.

The weather has turned cooler here in Tennessee.  Monday it was close to 78 for the high and now we have a freeze warning!!  Are they kidding me?!  I was just getting used to the warm weather.

So, I had a little time to play this morning.  I've been trying to get out of bed when I first open my eyes.  Instead of just laying there for over an hour trying to go back to sleep.  I was noticing that around 2:30pm I was getting tired, droopy eyes and all I wanted to do was take a nap.  So, Monday I started getting up shortly after waking.  And it's helping.

I started working with Thank You from Tiddly Inks yesterday morning.  I just love this image!  Those ponytails are superb!  Thank You is in Tiddly's bargain basement for $2!

I colored Thank You with my Copic markers.  Then I paper pieced her kimono and obi.  The papers are  from the Basic Grey Oxford 6X6 paper pad.  I absolutely *love* this pad.  The ribbon, flowers, and brads are from my stash.

The sentiment is computer generated and then cut out with my Whimsy Stamps ticket die with coordinating stamp.  Then I distressed it.  It's offset a little and I'm not exactly sure why.

Can you see my Oops!?!  I had sponged the edges of the image after I cut it out with my square Nestie and didn't realize I had green ink on my hands!  Great!  I normally would have scrapped the project, but decided to post it anyway, because the papers are just to die for!!

On the inside I followed the outside layout and just put a big rectangle for writing.  I then came back to it and used a new stamp I found in the $1 bin at Michael's.
I'm entering this card into the following challenges (even though I shouldn't, because of the Oops!):

Tiddly Inks:  photo inspiration w/ a twist on 2 (the umbrella reminded me of an oriental lantern and the green was just speaking to me)
Phiindy's Place:  anything goes

Have a great day chicas!!

Thinking of you...

Happy Thursday!

Just found out some awesome news!  My oldest son will be receiving a football scholarship beginning this fall.  We are all very excited.  He's put in the hours and worked really hard for the recognition.  The extra financial aid will help tremendously and take a huge weight off his shoulders.

I had a little time yesterday evening to work on this little image.  This is Nevaeh from Saturated Canary.  I love this image.  So girly and innocent, but with a flair of naughtiness.

I colored Nevaeh with my Copic markers.  I wanted to give the image a hint of Springtime, so I decided on pastel yellow and gave her petticoat a greenish tint.  I then cut her out with my oval Nestie and sponged around the edges with some Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Tea Dye.

The papers are Fancy Pants "It's the Little Things" 6X6 paper pad and coordinating solid cardstock.  I followed the sketch from Graphicat Sketches, but twisted it just a little.

The ribbon, bling, flowers, and sprigs are from my stash.  The sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps Retro Bottle Cap stamp set and coordinating die cut.  I *love* these sets.  Truly makes creating sentiments so easy.

Here's a close up of the senti   ment.  Around the circle it says "sending happy thoughts your way". A little hard to read on the kraft cardstock.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Saturated Canary:  #14Thinking of you
Graphicat Sketches:  sketch #5
Oozak:  #1 anything goes
Scrapbook Fashionista:  anything goes for girls
The Spotted Chick:  #60 kraft

Hope your day is fantastic!!  Later chicas.

I've got the blues...

Well, not really.  I've actually been in pretty good spirits lately.  There are times that I seem to struggle, but lately, I'm good.

Today I'd like to share a card I made.  I've had this image, Priscilla from Tiddly Inks for some time now.  I've finally found some time to color her and create a card.

I colored her with my Copics.  I've see several people use tans and browns and always thought it looked fantastic.  So, I gave that a try on the bustle and bodice of her dress.  It's hard to tell, but I also gave her hair some blue highlights.

Then I decided on what paper I would be using before I picked the main color of her dress.  I picked Bo Bunny Welcome Home paper in a 6X6 pad.  Then, based on the sketch I chose, I simply cut the image out in a rectangle and sponged the edges with Tim Holtz Distressed Ink in Vintage Photo.

The flowers, twine ribbon and bling are from my stash.  I actually cut the swirly bling from one big swirl to be able to place it in different areas.  I really love these prima flowers with the gold tips.  I think they really accent cards that have an old vintage feel like this one.

On the inside I used the basic layout from the front with the same papers.
The sentiment is from the Whimsy Stamps bottle cap set with die.  These sets are super easy to use and super quick.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Tiddly Inks:  birthday
Sweet Sketch:  sketch #147
Paper Pretties:  bling
Redneck Rubber:  color challenge
Color Me Creative Challenge:  #39 anything goes
Sugar Creek Hollow:  steampunk - shabby chic / vintage

I hope you have a wonderful weekend.  I'm headed to watch a Spring Football Game in Chattanooga and see my oldest son.
